Project Location:
The project is located on I-94 from 3200’ west of Helmer Road to US Hwy 27 N in city of Battle Creek, Emmett and Marshall Township, Calhoun County.
General Project Description:
Michigan Ave over I-94, I-94 under 17 Mile Rd, I-94 under 17 Mile Rd, and I-94 over Riverside Dr bridge improvements, I-194 over I-94 bearing replacement, I-94 from Helmer Rd to 6.5 Mile Rd including ramps at Helmer Rd and at I-194 Beadle Lake, mill and resurfacing on shoulders, pavement replacement under EB Renton Rd, and resurfacing of Battle Creek rest area. Remove all HMA feathering tie-ins to existing bridge approaches within limits. EB & WB I-94 over 6 Mile Rd bridge replacement, EB & WB I-94 over M-294 bridge replacement, EB & WB I-94 over 9 Mile Rd bridge replacement, Capital Ave over I-94, bridge replacement and underclearance improvement requiring reconstruction of I-94 and Capital Ave, F Drive N over I-94, deck replacement with potential to remove the bridge. EB & WB I-94 over Kalamazoo River bridge replacement I-94 over Brickyard Creek improve slope stability Work includes associated drainage and operational improvements, maintenance of traffic, ITS, signing and pavement marking.
Description of Survey Pick-up Performed:
Established the legal alignments, stationing, and right-of-way for:
- I-94 from Sonoma Road to 2,500’ E’ly of River Drive, including the W’ly ramps at the I-94/I-194 interchange.
- Capital Avenue from Beckley to Christy, including the four ramps at the I-94/Capital Ave interchange.
- Beckley from Mines to Minges Creek PI (East).
- Knapp Drive 1,640’± W. of Capital to Capital Avenue.
- I-94 from 1,300’± W’ly of 9 Mile Road to 2,250’± E’ly of F Drive.
- F Drive N. from the intersection of Sections 14, 15, 22 & 23 to 9 1/2 Mile Rd.
